Bates Hill Church Sunday Morning Worship
We’re so glad you’ve joined us at Bates Hill Church! Life can take us places we never expected to be—discouraged, tired, confused, or wondering what God is doing. But even when we lose our way, God knows exactly where we are. Today, as we open His Word together, our prayer is that we will quiet everything else long enough to hear His voice and have the courage to take the next step He puts in front of us. Welcome to Bates Hill Church. You’re not here by accident, and we’re glad you’re here.
In 1 Kings 19:9–18, Elijah goes from one of the greatest victories of his life to hiding in a cave, discouraged and convinced he is alone. That's where God meets him with a simple question: “What are you doing here, Elijah?” Elijah couldn't see the whole picture, but God could. There were still 7,000 who had not bowed to Baal, there was still work to be done, and God wasn't finished with Elijah. In “What Are You Doing Here?” we'll look at what happens when fear and discouragement change what we see, why we need God's voice more than another sign, and what it means to get up and obey God even when we don't have all the answers. Sometimes faith isn't knowing how the whole story ends. Sometimes faith is simply getting up and going when God says, “Go.”
